Palestinian-American Teenager Liberated After Nine-Month Period in Israel's Custody

A American-Palestinian adolescent who spent a nine-month period in Israeli detention without being charged gained freedom.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention this past winter throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting from his Florida home accused of stone-throwing against settlement residents, allegations he repeatedly contested.

American diplomatic officials applauded the teenager's freedom.

Now sixteen years old, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.

According to them, he appears pale, underweight, while battling health issues developed during imprisonment.

In a statement, family spokesperson spoke of the family's "immense relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Right now, we are focused on providing Mohammed with the immediate medical attention necessary for his recovery after being subjected to Israel's abuse and inhumane conditions for months."

American authorities announced ongoing to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.

{"The Trump Administration gives utmost importance to ensuring the safety of American nationals"," the department emphasized.

Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to the state department and President Donald Trump, urging greater action for his freedom.

The father, with four children operating an ice cream shop in Florida, previously claimed his son only confessed about rock throwing due to physical abuse.

There were no visits or communicated with his son since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively about his son's condition via legal paperwork.

He stayed absent formal charges at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.

It is also home to grown detainees, including individuals found guilty for major terrorist activities and homicide.

Approximately several hundred young Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli jails, per correctional service statistics.

Numerous remain uncharged along with monitoring agencies, including UN bodies, document cases involving abuse and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said relatives would persist in advocating seeking justice for their relative Sayfollah Musallet.

This young American-Palestinian according to health authorities was beaten to death by radical settlers following tensions during summer.

Initially, the Israeli military said officials were investigating information regarding a civilian had been killed.

Mohammed and Sayfollah were employed together at their family's ice cream business based in Florida.

No indictments occurred regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We anticipate United States leadership to protect our families," Mr Kadur said.
