I will dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
