Barcelona Set to Play First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou on 7 November. The club said they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
